The varsity baseball team recently competed in two public-school tournaments at Manor and at Sunnyvale and took first place in both. In the two tournaments, the Cards won 7 and lost 1 and outscored their opponents 87-24 and currently have a 12-3 record. Cameron Hooper is leading with 4 home runs while Tyler Eager has 3 home runs and is leading with 19 rbi's, 8 doubles, and a batting average of 0.488. Hooper is also leading the pitchers with 3 wins and no losses. Brandon Keck is leading with 19 singles (batting average of 0.444).
The varsity softball team has begun a good season with an 8-5 record, with games mostly against public-school teams. Pitcher Kayla English was named the Player of the Week Tuesday in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In 78 innings, she has 180 strikeouts and has only allowed 6 earned runs (for an ERA of 0.54). Taylor Sturdivant is leading the team with 18 hits and 6 rbi's while English has 16 hits and 6 rbi's.
